You can spend your time waiting for life
\nto happen to you.
\nIs that what you’re going to do?<\/p>\n
Or do you sit and make plans for better times?
\nplanning to make things better,
\nand waiting for them to get that way,
\ninstead of enjoying what you have now?<\/p>\n
Is that what you’re going to do?
\nI wonder…<\/p>\n
It’s a brief, brief moment I have with you,
\nAnd what are you trying to do?<\/p>\n
You’re gonna talk about how things will be better…<\/p>\n
Will you talk about plans that were made?
\nthe half page of scribbled lines upon a book?
\nThe plans that will never happen?<\/p>\n
Pathetic, it seems
\na shame to waste this time.<\/p>\n
The apricot trees and the driving rain
\nand the wheels turning,
\nand the trucks are burning,
\nand the clouds go on and on and on and on.<\/p>\n
Life is now.<\/p>\n
We can always move on to a better place,
\na better time,
\na better future,
\nbut the better things only come from within.<\/p>\n
And I see it that way now.
\nFor life is now.<\/p>\n
I don’t see how you can be there, planning away,
\nwasting your days, planning away,
\nplanning for a time when others may say
\n“look, he’s doing better.”<\/p>\n
But it isn’t that way at all.
\nIt’s just appearances,
\nIt’s just the way you feel.<\/p>\n
Now.<\/p>\n
And those plans…
\nare you going to take them
\nwith you when you die?<\/p>\n

\nLife is what you made of plans,
\nand how you fulfilled them.<\/p>\n
