\nProducts of human thinking –

By hands can man
\nKill, or consecrate;
\nCan feel, or masturbate;
\nCan shield, or shelter
\nWhat is his own.<\/p>\n
Hands can be there
\nWith gentle caresses,
\nTo care;
\nHands can make;
\nCan channel;
\nCan awake
\nOne to his folly.
\nHands make what?
\nThe worker works –
\nHands make money.
\nArtist expresses,
\nAnd thus creates
\nFeelings by which
\nOne relates to
\nUniverse unknown:
\nThe universe
\nOf mind.<\/p>\n
Before the hand
\nCan create,
\nThe mind has
\nCreated.
\nBy hands can man
\nExteriorize his
\nThoughts.
\nHe can express,
\nHe can be taught,
\nAnd he can teach
\nWhat by hands he
\nKnows, and by
\nWhat he shows
\nUnto the world.<\/p>\n
Hands may create
\nIdle images,
\nOf idols and kings –
\nEarthly things –
\nTo which homage
\nMay be paid
\nIn hope of
\nBetter days.<\/p>\n
Unknowingly idolatrous persons
\nWhose idols are but dispersions
\nOf human thoughts and greeds,
\nAnd purely worldly needs:<\/p>\n
Such men know not
\nThe innate admiration
\nThey bear for their
\nOwn creations;
\nNor the needs and necessities
\nFor Spirit’s growth.<\/p>\n
Knowing not does not
\nMake them innocent:
\nThey are ignorant,
\nNot for lack of knowledge,
\nBut for desires, misguided
\nUnto earthly things.
\nCarved god beings.
