a mist clouding my emergence
\nfrom the dusk of old resentments
\nto the freedom of new dawns<\/p>\n
I answer myself
\nThanks I think are not in order
\nfor a shared miracle
\na secret life<\/p>\n
that has made me disappear<\/p>\n
from the consciousness
\nof what is now best looked back upon
\nin remembrance
\nand learning
\nand frustrations<\/p>\n
when will the secrets that separate us
\nbring us together?<\/p>\n
When will the secrets that saved us
\nfree us?<\/p>\n
Instead the frustrations just linger
\nnothing changes<\/p>\n
hope and motivation
\nnothing changes<\/p>\n
I have both
\nand neither<\/p>\n
I want to bring us together
\nbeyond the secrets separating me from
\nwho I would be<\/p>\n
from who you would be<\/p>\n
to me<\/p>\n
When all I see is a cursed old man
\nwhose secrets may die with him
\nbeneath the discarded remains of what once was<\/p>\n
separating
\nfrustrating
\naggravating<\/p>\n
secrets<\/p>\n
honesty is the best policy
\nor so it is said
\nif so I’d be dead<\/p>\n
instead, I live on in this constrained existence
\nmaking the most
\nhiding the secrets that could
\nin theory
\nbring us together<\/p>\n
or tear us apart<\/p>\n
but free us, nonetheless.<\/p>\n
Free us from ourselves.<\/p>\n
Time may tell
\nthough mine is limited
\nfrustrations win again
\nand rob me of the joy of what is now
\nand frustrate me with the knowledge of
\nwhat may never be<\/p>\n
