Peace, serenity;
\na lonely stage
\nsurrounded by and
\nsaturated with
\nso much
\ninfant rage. <\/p>\n
I claim a clarity
\nof this, my salient mind,
\nwhile clinging patiently
\nto the obedient,
\nbut blind. <\/p>\n
Their choices
\nneed not the attention of
\nmadness;
\nmy eyes meet theirs;
\nI see the rays
\nof damp cold light,
\nthe brown earth,
\nlife’s catacombs thus created,
\nthe stolid, expressionless
\nfaces that disguise
\nthe only windows
\nto those souls;<\/p>\n
That close
\nthe only window
\nto mine. <\/p>\n
The future arrives
\nand is realized;
\nPeace, serenity.
\nThings I would like to see
\napart from this clinging mind,
\nso salient, but purportedly,
\nblind.<\/p>\n
Blind to the destination of
\nan endless path
\non which we travel,
\nopining miseries
\nto the friendly,
\ntrying not to portray
\nthe weakness;<\/p>\n
staying encouraged,
\nalive.<\/p>\n
The mental tide
\nswings a restless shroud;
\nthe purported clarity,
\nnow clearly defined.
\nThe room and dampening light
\ncast images afresh
\nupon this once
\nblind mind. <\/p>\n
I’ll surrender that mind
\nto the freedom
\nthat takes in all
\nthese mental catacombs,
\nand whisk my Self to other
\ngreat witness stands
\nto gleam a gallant
\nsmile at the
\nmasses,
\nI’ll take
\nthe stage of peace,
\nserenity,
\nand gleam that
\ngallant smile
\nout into that
\nforever aging
