I pray for peace.
\nI pray for peace on Earth,
\nFor peace;
\nI pray for peace among my two dogs,
\nFor peace between my next door neighbors.<\/p>\n
I pray for peace among worlds.<\/p>\n
In my meager prayers,
\nI pray for all that is sacred.
\nI pray for Life.
\nI pray for peace –
\nThe Sacred Peace that should be Life.
\nI pray for prayer,
\nThat prayers may be answered
\nAnd heard and known to all.
\nI pray for those who are hungry,
\nThat they might have food.
\nI pray for those who are weak
\nThat they may be strong.
\nI pray for those who are sick
\nThat they may be well.
\nI pray that my prayers are not in vain.<\/p>\n
I pray for these things,
\nI pray some more
\nAnd some more.
\nI pray that I may stop wondering
\nWhether praying is a waste of time.
\nI pray that I might not indulge in
\nThe self-indulgence that prayer is.
\nI pray that this masquerade of God-worship that is prayer,
\nBut is really a voicing of my own desires
\nMay actually take me further
\nThan where I am now in life.<\/p>\n
I pray a prayer –
\nA prayer of Self.
\nJust a few words between me and the Maker I
\nAm told I have. Just me and Him.
\nI pray that Me and Him may be
\nFriends, but I cannot do all the talking –
\nA friendship must go both ways.
\nI pray that He is really there listening to
\nMy prayer,
\nFor my prayer should be to Him.
\nBut I pray to me,
\nJust hoping that He is
\nListening in on the other side.
\nI pray that I pray. I pray that
\nPrayer is not a waste of time.
\nYes, I pray.<\/p>\n
Yes, prayer is good.
