Too many tales of the sea
\nHave been told:
\nToo many lines,
\nLies and truths and
\nGreat white whales,
\nAnd monsters, and myths
\nAnd mists and mysteries.<\/p>\n
But there is no mystery
\nIn why I write of,
\nAgain, the sea.<\/p>\n
Perhaps in the blue
\nLies a part of my soul,
\nBut I know in my heart
\nLies a part of the sea.
\nWhen the part of the sea in my heart,
\nAnd the part of me in the sea
\nCome together,
\nI am a whole person.<\/p>\n
When riding waves, whether
\nBy board or by sail,
\nI am a whole person.
\nNot one with the elements,
\nBut whole as a master,
\nAnd slave to the elements.
\nPerhaps a slave to creation.<\/p>\n
A slave to the creation that
\nMan, as a man, had no hand in.
\nInstead of the slave to the
\nBusiness machine,
\nThe despondent and cowardly
\nLand bound schemes,
\nThat man, as a man,
\nHas enslaved himself to.<\/p>\n
When riding waves what
\nLittle is there
\nTo the world and its troubles
\nAnd pains;
\nThis becomes the world
\nAs I melt in contemplation
\nOf the world as my world
\nOn the sea.<\/p>\n
And what little wonder
\nCan there be that
\nMonsters, and myths,
\nAnd the mysteries
\nBrought back on the
\nTongues of the sea-faring
\nTravelers, are told of
\nBy the men of the sea.<\/p>\n
For every man with the
\nSea in his heart,
\nAnd his soul in the blue,
\nCannot but help tell
\nOf the love of his life.<\/p>\n
Never can there, then,
\nBe too many tales of the sea.
\nI, for one,
\nHave just begun
\nTo tell of my love of,
