This, in its all consuming way,
\nThe mithridatism that is today,
\nIn this, the Occidental way,
\nWe cannot not partake in,
\nExcept in leaving this so ingrained way:<\/p>\n
Leaving this western existence,
\nSo grained and ingrained with
\nSociety’s unforeseeing ways.
\nWhere to go against the grain
\nOf society goes against the grain
\nOf the individual, but to go
\nWith the grain of society goes
\nAgainst the grain of the Self.<\/p>\n
The grain of the Self flows and grows
\nWith and within the tree that is the
\nUniverse, flowing upward and outward,
\nCarrying with it the wisdom of the Self
\nWith and to all other Selves of the universe.<\/p>\n
The grain of the individual disrupts and
\nInterrupts the true flow of the Self,
\nForming knots in the wood of the universe tree,
\nKnots that are the roots of other branches,
\nBranches that lead the individual away from
\nThe flow of the Self. Branches though, from
\nWhich the individual may fall as leaves to
\nEarth, and be taken in again to flow upward,
\nPerhaps to higher branches, but ultimately
\nUpward, flowing infinitely upward and outward,
\nAlong the trunk and through all the branches
\nOf the universe tree.<\/p>\n
The grain of society is a constant struggle
\nFor individuals, for branches, for Selves,
\nIt is a struggle, the flow of which is
\nIn circles, bringing society back to where
\nSociety began; taking society and holding
\nIt from its own freedom, its own expression,
\nTaking from it its own life; poisoning itself,
\nIn its unsuccessful mithridatistic attempts.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
