I walk in company<br \/>\nOf thoughts. I walk in company<br \/>\nOf thieves, of prophets;<br \/>\nI walk in company<br \/>\nOf gods. <\/p>\n<p>I walk in company of thoughts.<\/p>\n<p>My thoughts.<\/p>\n<p>I walk a dusty street, alone.<\/p>\n<p>I kick the dust as I walk,<br \/>\nAmusing myself with images<br \/>\nOf dust playthings and<br \/>\nDust monsters,<br \/>\nFormed in tiny clouds of<br \/>\nDust which cloud the mind.<\/p>\n<p>I walk in dust, heedless<br \/>\nOf my company.<\/p>\n<p>The dust kicks back,<br \/>\nPlaying with my own<br \/>\nCreated images.<br \/>\nThe capers of this dust<br \/>\nAmuse, entice,<br \/>\nAnd intimidate me,<br \/>\nHolding the thought.<\/p>\n<p>Following other footprints<br \/>\nLeft behind in<br \/>\nThis foreboding dust,<br \/>\nTracing other paths,<br \/>\nOf other things lost,<br \/>\nI walk and follow and move and<br \/>\nThink alone on this dusty road.<\/p>\n<p>I walk and pass a streetlight,<br \/>\nA light, lighting my way.<br \/>\nBut the light is diffused by<br \/>\nDust; diffused, not focussed,<br \/>\nConfused, not illuminating.<\/p>\n<p>That confused light confuses me.<br \/>\nThe dust confusing that light,<br \/>\nDiffuses my thought,<br \/>\nStill holds my thought as I walk.<\/p>\n<p>Without that meager glint of<br \/>\nConfused Light, I could not find<br \/>\nMy way. I could not find any way &#8211;<br \/>\nCould not follow footprints,<br \/>\nCould not leave them behind.<br \/>\nWithout diffused light, I would be<br \/>\nLost: I could not be.<\/p>\n<p>Whose footprints do I follow?<br \/>\nMy feet fall perfectly<br \/>\nInto the place of each print ahead,<br \/>\nMy foot fits perfectly into<br \/>\nEach print ahead.<\/p>\n<p>I follow no one but myself,<br \/>\nThough I follow footprints,<br \/>\nThey were not made by feet.<br \/>\nThose prints were made of dust,<br \/>\nDust diffusing light,<br \/>\nDust confusing thought.<\/p>\n<p>Those prints were made of dust,<br \/>\nBy dust and from dust.<br \/>\nIt was confused thoughts which<br \/>\nLaid them there, where<br \/>\nMy foot will fall with every step.<br \/>\nThe path I follow has been created by me.<br \/>\nIt was laid down by me.<\/p>\n<p>The dusty street I walk is<br \/>\nMy own dusty street, my own dust,<br \/>\nMy own street. <\/p>\n<p>I pass and look down other side streets,<br \/>\nI look and consider<br \/>\nPossibilities, but my feet fall<br \/>\nPerfectly into each place laid before me.<br \/>\nI cannot place my foot outside these<br \/>\nDust prints, which took me<br \/>\nOn their own streets.<\/p>\n<p>I may consider and be curious as I wish,<br \/>\nBut my wish creates more<br \/>\nDusty side streets for other<br \/>\nWondering walkers to peruse.<\/p>\n<p>My wish creates more creations<br \/>\nIn this dust and of this dust,<br \/>\nFor my wish is for this dust.<\/p>\n<p>And so I walk.<br \/>\nI walk this dusty street alone,<br \/>\nIn company of thieves, of<br \/>\nProphets;<br \/>\nI walk in company of<br \/>\nGods.<\/p>\n<p>I walk alone,<br \/>\nHeedless the company that I am.<\/p>\n<p>This dusty street, must teach me and<br \/>\nFrom it I must learn<br \/>\nHow not to make this dust the object of<br \/>\nMy thought.<\/p>\n<p>The less I think of this dust<br \/>\nThe shorter my dusty street becomes.<\/p>\n<p>I approach the end of this dusty street,<br \/>\nWhere I may no longer follow footprints.<br \/>\nI may no longer follow footprints, but<br \/>\nThen I drift along a dusty street,<br \/>\nDrift along at the speed of thought,<br \/>\nUntil no more dust can hold my mind.<\/p>\n<p>When no more dust holds my mind,<br \/>\nI drift alone, I drift with my Selves.<\/p>\n<p>I am my Selves, apart from this<br \/>\nDusty street.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I walk a dusty street alone,<br \/> Desolate, destitute,<br \/> Alone.
