Face of the clock:
\nFace of death.
\nForcing us to face a time –
\nForcing us to fight this time –
\nFighting us unto the death.<\/p>\n
Time is faced:
\nTime exists.
\nTime is fought:
\nDeath exists.
\nTime is faced:
\nLife and death retain their
\nOstensible existence
\nAs polar opposites.<\/p>\n
The face of the clock
\nAs the face of man,
\nDivides apparent time
\nInto ignoble increments
\nAlong a line.<\/p>\n
Linear time as blind man
\nWould find,
\nIs as a horizon appears to a mind
\nImmured by sight
\nWithout intuition,
\nLured to an inhibition
\nOf wisdom.
\nFor a horizon appearing as a straight line
\nCurves back on itself,
\nJust as does time,
\nFor neither have an end or a start.<\/p>\n
A man’s face divides time
\nWith wrinkles and lines
\nSeparating a youth from an age,
\nAnd life from a death.
\nA clock’s face cleaves time
\nInto partitions for the mind
\nTo systemize and organize
\nThe bodily existence it finds
\nItself in.<\/p>\n
In facing the clock to face this time
\nWe force and fight the mind
\nTo abandon the nature of mind itself
\nAnd take on the illusion of time.
\nIn forcing the mind by way of this time,
\nWe constrict the time that is this mind
\nFor the mind is this time.
\nWe are this mind,
\nAbove any time.<\/p>\n
Our faces of clocks and faces of men
\nMay measure and divide it, but
\nWe are this time:
