Alone on the sea

A sailor’s never as happy
As when he’s alone on the sea,
With the trades just abaft of the beam,
And a light, though following sea,
And the clouds to amuse and
The waves to invite
And a sun to guide him
To the port’s leading lights–
Yes, a sailor’s never as happy
As when he’s alone on the sea.
