Dare the future

As blatantly we dare the future
to rush forward any faster,
and look on in total disbelief
(or total disregard).

There must be some inconsistency,
(I haven’t seen the final outcome)
though I know that when it has passed,
Future cannot ever be undone.

Fearlessly we dare the future,
to rush toward us even faster,
while all around these friends and places
and memories too, break down,
leaving all that remains

(all there ever really was, without me).

All there really is, is me,
rushing forward even faster,
looking at time in total disbelief,
total disregard.
