Another Day

And so passes another day
the routine ingrained
like the predictability of ocean’s tides,
or repeated rising of resplendent sun.
I trudge wearily on and on.

Have I forgotten how to strive?
Lost the will to survive?
In this existence tarry onward,
as an instinctive insect plying
I move and act […]

Haiku 2 – March 2, 2009

motionless time waits
inside green room of water
perfect elation

Diminishing Resource

Boulders rounded by the ravages of time;
Sinewy sluices weave down the valley floor.

I taste the cold crystal waters
and cherish all I have.
The diminishing of special places
is what scares me most right now.

And the river brings me life,
brings the sense of urgency
as it rises with the melting […]

I Ride

In pensive moments, spent alone on a
wide waking dream
filled with seascapes
and bodies flopping sideways,
my boyhood calls and joy returns.

It is not in vain that again and again we ride
towards unyielding golden sands.

Again and again we repeat the motion
that to the uninitiated is
somewhere between art […]

Out to sea

Looking out to sea
I see nothing at all
But knowing what is there
is more important to me now

I feel a deep sense of longing
of satisfaction in my desires
I feel the things that tell me
I am living, I am alive

That not all is well in what I see

[…]

Ocean

I want to feel your freedom, I want to slide my hand
over the glassy crystal surfaces, that can’t be found on land.

I want to see your inside, see the world from within your cacoon
I want to grasp the power of the planet and for an instant, understand

I want to take your power and ride […]

Jalama

i don’t know why it was special…

fiery objects in the sky
whales spouting
seals pouting
snaking the best wave of the day!
(and making the world go away)

i don’t know why it was special…

a disappearing moon
smiles and laughs
the homemade draft
having the waves to ourselves!
(and keeping […]

Leave It

Take the pounding waves and ride them;
Take the crashing seas and tame them;
Take the glorious skies and fly them
Take the living earth, but leave it.

The Dance of the Tell Tales

As fair trades blow and and push me on
To where I’m going, far beyond
The horizons I now see,
To a place where I can discover me.

Forward and onward so I race,
Guided by the guiding grace
of the compass, a star, a sun and a moon,
and a line of latitude […]

Something Spiritual

Something spiritual happens here.
Do you feel it?

Something real, vibrant and alive.
Do you see it?

Something cleansing, renewing, rebuilding.
Do you know it?

Something that is the outcome of all forces.
Do you hear it?

There it is!

That wave crashing on the shore.
