Mountain God

As with a god,
One’s self may be left at ease
Experiencing the majestic
Untamed beauty of the mountain.

Like a god, a mountain
May force man to
Transend the limits
Imposed on man by man;
May open to the man
Heights never before
Dreamed of;
May release within the man
Experience only before
Thought of; but never
Experienced.

A mountain, like a god,
Demands respect;
Demands knowledge;
Demands preparedness.
It requires not blind faith,
But true knowledge,
For within every nook
Every crag and every
Cranny, potential death
Awaits.

Like a god, a mountain
Forces one to come to one’s
Own terms within one’s self;
Like a god, a mountain
Looks down on man without
Condescension; without
Ridiculing man’s seeming puniness.
For, like a god,
A mountain knows that man
Within man renders the mountain
Itself insignificant.
For, like a god,
A mountain knows that man
Within man is a god.

Is not too,
Like a man or a god,
The mountain
God?

Sea God

Far, far out there
On an open sea,
Is where most ease can be
Found within.

Deeper within, the further
Out to sea.

Like a god,
The sea can sedate the mind,
Inducing well-being and
Freedom, and Love.

The sea remains like a god.
We both fear and
Love the sea. For
Like a god,
The sea can enhance life,
Unexpectedly.
The sea can bring worth
And value and meaning
To life.
The sea can sustain life.
Through the sea,
As through god,
Freedom can be found.

Like a god,
The sea should be held
With reverence,
For, like a god,
The sea
Daunts one with its
Ubiquity, and
Ceaseless power.
It can teach perspective
On life:
Can teach one about
One’s self.

And,
Like a god
The sea requires
Love, not words;
Recognition, not ritual;
Awareness, not religion.
It requires a knowledge
That within one is one
With the sea, or
One with the
God.

And too,
Like a god,
The sea can take a life,
Unannounced.

Is not the sea,
like a god,
God?

Seeking

It was a very normal person,
By normal standards,
Who remarked rather amusedly
At the sight of those
Who would call themselves punk,
About society’s production
Of those who dare the course
Society at large does not deem,
By normal standards,
Normal.

Little was he aware that his
Normality was even more of
A product of society at large.

Society, by normal standards,
Has failed through its
Lack of unity,
Its diversification, and
Factional division:
It has failed in its normal
Standards.
Society fails to provide,
For the individuals who comprise it,
Identity.

Society having failed them,
They must seek their own.
The normal man, by normal standards,
Hides his lack of identity behind
His normality:
The punk hides his normality
Behind his lack of identity.

But both are the same.
And at least with something,
Both may identify.

Identity

Each, as a person,
Seeks identity.
Seeking; looking;
Finding – making.

Each, as a person
Finds identity among friends;
Finds security in that
Identity;
Finds identity in
Their being.

Each, as a person
Creates and makes identity,
Based on relation
To the society
To be identified with.
Then assumes the same.

Each as a person
Needs identity:
A need of worth and value
Within a society
Not supplying the same.

A society cannot supply the same:
Identity must come from within.
Bonding one to this world,
Identity separates one from
Merging with all.
The identity of having no identity
Is the only one which all can share.
But the identity of having no identity,
Of being One with All,
Is the only identity which cannot be assumed.

Life’s Equation (part 2)

Creation of thought is the creation of life,
Reduction of the consciousness of
Consciousness, to that which we deem life;
Unknowing and unaware of that from which
Life descended.

Creation of thought leaves thoughts
Unbalanced, thoughts which must ultimately
Return to the Doer in the body to
Teach the Doer how not to issue thoughts.

To think is to create,
To create thought
Creates tenure
And life’s tenure,
Is Death’s tenure.

Thinking is destiny.
That is the equation.

Reducing and
Balancing equations
Is the object
Of life.

Life’s Equation

Thought equals life.
Thought equals death.
Nothing equals Life.
Nothing surpasses Death.

Collective

How bad we may say
A government is;
How strongly
We criticize our own.

Pointing and finding
Selfish abandon;
Revealing, concealing,
Stagnating and stifling
People;
Lying and stealing;
Material ambition,
And greed and need
Of futile power.

Masses broken down
To factions, to
Families and
Ultimately
Persons should
Look no further:
For from the individual
Government does come.

Government: merely
A collective of
Thoughts of the
Collective of persons
Under the influence
Of those in whom
Their thoughts
Find expression.

When the collective is
Freed from the
Selfish abandon,
The material ambition,
The greed and need
Of futile power,
So shall be the government.

Logic

We may see small characters of ink,
And recognize them as an
Equation:

One-four-one plus three-two equals?

And as an equation we apply
What we know as logic.
We say this equals one-seven-three.

Such is not the equation of life.
To imply such is to impose
Pre-conceived notions and
Limitations on
The nature of the universe,
For one-four-one plus three-two may
Equal two-two-three, or
Two-zero-three, or two-one-three,
Or any multitude of possibilities.

It is not therefore logical
To impose preconceived logic upon
That which antecedes and postdates
And encompases this logic.
Why impose a part on the whole,
Presuming the part to be the whole?

To Die For Sins

Your sins:
More than what
Any one man-god-being
Could die for.
No-one has ever died for your sins.

In fact you live for your sins
For sins are just thoughts,
Misguided, distraught;
Thoughts unbalanced of
Desires uncontrolled;
Creations of mind
Exteriorized in time
And in place.
Events – objects:
All merely product.

The life
Now about you,
A precipitation of thought;
Allowing and
Necessitating balancing and
Learning and growing.

Only that being which created
The thought can balance
The thought,
And free himself from
Its return;
Only that being which created
The thought can nullify
The thought,
And free himself from
The lessons in
Control of Desire;
Only that being which issued
The thought can be
Born again to balance
The thought and
Learn how not to issue
Thoughts;
Only that being which issued
The thought
Will have spirit
Die for that thought
At birth.
At birth,
One’s spirit dies for one’s sins.

He whom it is claimed died
For your sins,
Died not to relieve you
Of your sins or thoughts,
But to show you that they are.

Knowing Who They Are

They are.
Of that a certain
Assuredness may prevail.
For through earthly senses
As persons we may experience
Our mutual presence.

But as persons we may not
Experience their experience;
We may rest assured
That as persons we are spirits,
And as spirits we may
Know who they are
Who don’t know who they are.
